A one-of-a-kind table-top heart created by Swarovski Crystal will be auctioned off to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the “Hearts in San Francisco” project at the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon on February 13, 2014. The organization plans to raise funds for programs and initiatives at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center through the auction.
The Swarovski heart is one of “Heart in San Francisco” sculptures to be auctioned off at the luncheon. The heart assembled and designed in Vienna by Alice Payr, Claudia Demetz and Monika Fritz features over 12,700 Swarovski crystals in different shapes and sizes.
The SFGHF also announced Swarovski heart will be available for auction on eBay starting February 3 through February 13 at the Heroes & Hearts luncheon at AT&T Park.
Artists such as Shannon Amidon, Christine Arthur, Erica Jasmin Cañas, Patrick Dintino and Celeste Howell has created large and table-top hearts for the charitable auction. Institute of Mosaic Art (IMA) in Berkeley contributed 15 mini-mosaic hearts created by their artists for the cause.
Table-top hearts including the Swarovski heart and 15 mini-mosaic hearts will go on display on February 3 at Wilkes Bashford window at Macy’s on Sutter Street. Since 2006 the “Hearts in San Francisco”, Heroes & Hearts and Hearts After Dark have raised almost $10 million for SFGHF through their artwork.
