If there’s any accessory you need to keep up with from year to year, it’s shoes. Shoes can make or break your outfit, and the fickle fashion world is constantly reinventing looks that shoe hungry ladies need in their collection. In 2015, the Gucci slipper dominated as the “it shoe.” But this year, there’s a new shoe that’s set to reign supreme in footwear. According to Refinery 29, it’s Alberta Ferretti’s new Mia Mule.
Taking advantage of the recent ’90s fashion revival, the Mia Mule is made of velvet and a limited number of colors. But while the base might seem generic, what really sets the shoe apart are the silk threads that make up the 3-D petal and foliage embellishments. “The all-over embroidery requires two whole days of meticulous craftsmanship,” wrote Refinery 29 contributor Alyssa Coscarelli, “so you know you’re paying for something special.”
Of course, as with any high-end accessory, the shoe is already gaining traction with celebrities. Melty Fashion recently spotted Kendall Jenner wearing a pair when the model was out on the town in Los Angeles. She look effortlessly chic, completing the outfit with a black body suit, denim shorts, and some modest jewelry.
Unfortunately the pair is far from budget-friendly. A new pair Alberta Ferretti’s mia mules will cost you about $1,090 – a steep price tag for most shoppers. If you need something that fits you budget, there are plenty of other styles out there. As seen among the flats selection on Lyst, today’s popular designs range in price, but you can expect to pay more for hand embroidered pieces. You can even see a few suede varieties from Jenner sisters Kendall and Kylie’s new fashion line.
