Dolce & Gabbana has a new collection of fabulously colorful eyewear that applies micro mosaics, an art form originated in ancient Rome. This is the first time ever micro mosaic is applied to eyewear. The micro mosaic, or filato minute mosaic are created by skilled craftsmen spinning the mosaic tiles until they get thinner and smaller than the classic mosaics.
Over thirty floral mosaic designs were created for the Dolce & Gabbana Mosaico eyewear collection. The beautiful floral design collection contains leaves, pistils, and flower petals in a colorful arrangement. As you already know floral themes are a favorite of Messrs. Dolce and Gabbana, they incorporate them whenever possible for their luxury masterpieces.
The collection is available in numerous attractive styles. The most luxurious is the model DG2136, its front and temples are covered with around thousand elaborate micro-tiles in floral designs of romantic red pansies, snow white plumeria, shades of the pink gerberas and the lilac forget-me-nots. A round model DG4215 features colorful mosaics numbering around 600 embellished to temples. A third in a square shape DG4214 has detailed decorations near the hinge that include 150 micro tiles on temples.
The unique limited edition eyewear collection is available in Havana, red and black frames with polarized lenses. Dolce & Gabbana is yet to reveal pricing and release date details.
