Those eyes are there to scare you. Be afraid, be very afraid. Okay, maybe not. New Peekaboo bag with scary eyes is part of the friendly furry “Bag Bugs” collection Fendi launched last week.
Black leather and python Fendi Peekaboo bag with black and yellow crocodile eyes come alive when the side compartment of the bag is opened. When you open the zipper pocket it gets even more menacing with its blood red mouth.
Style-wise Italian made bag’s python trimmed interior is spacious enough for a tablet, make-up case, and other nitty-gritties. The black calf leather bag features a top handle and a removable shoulder strap, as well as Fendi logo, silver hardware, and protective bottom studs. It is partially lined in black twill, python, Venezuelan crocodile and lamb leather.
Silvia Venturini Fendi, the creative director of accessories at Fendi is their biggest fan of the menacing eye. “I like that monster very much, with his two eyes. That was my idea,” said Venturini Fendi. Though she admitted she could have been slightly influenced by her daughter’s jewelry designs. Delfina Delettrez, Venturini Fendi’s daughter is known for using eye motifs in her designs. Fendi family is still a big part of the company now owned by luxury giant LVMH.
Fendi Peekaboo Monster bag retails for £3,270 (approx. $6,000) at Fendi boutique at Sloane Street, London and Fendi pop-up shop in Harrods.
