Karin Jolly Valentine’s Day “Art of Seduction” Lingerie Collection Feature Hand-Sculptured Laces

If you make the trip to North London, perhaps you can meet, Karin Jolly, doing something very special in her home studio. Karin has perfected the art of creating sculpted lingerie using specialist paint, which she tool and shape to look like lace. She has teamed-up with VeryFirstTo to introduce her hand-sculptured work to a wider audience with a special underwear collection named “Art of Seduction” to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Her work includes both bespoke and collection pieces. In addition to underwear, Karin also works her magic on undergarments such as bustiers and garter belts for weddings and other special occasions. The science in mixing art and fancy underwear is all Karin’s making. The former model has spent good 8 years developing best techniques to mix materials with paints and oils. Via experiments, she found out that off the shelf paint does not give the effect she is looking for. Just like Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean, Karin ended up creating her own paint concoctions by mixing secret ingredients, chemicals, oils, and pigments.

One of the biggest inspirations for her venture happened to come from her friends and family. No, not that way – they thought as a stay-at-home mum Jolly must be bored out of her brains. Creating this sexy lingerie collection is her way of proving them wrong. She explained “I decided to create these pieces to illustrate the idea of never judging a book by its cover. School run mums may be wearing sweat pants but you never know what they have on underneath. I am delighted to be working with VeryFirstTo to offer women everywhere the chance to proudly exhibit underwear that means something to them.”

Handcrafting beautiful underwear is very time consuming and need a lot of patients. This is especially true when you have to deal with Angelina Joliesque brood of seven kids – yes, seven! Because of kids, Jolly developed a unique numbering system for her pieces “I number them to illustrate my journey with each piece. I indicate the amount of hours it took and the number of times one of my children interrupted me. I did this to reflect my situation.” Here’s an example – 36H49I = 36 Hours to complete with 49 interruptions.

The “Art of Seduction” sculpted lingerie collection has two different price levels. Those of you who prefer to send Karin your own favorite pieces to add magical paint lace will have to fork out little more $3,750 (£3,000/€3,500). Pieces from the collections costs just $1,500 (£1,200/€1,400). Each piece comes in a box frame for safe storing.
