Ray-Ban has announced plans to offer a special limited-edition version of its iconic aviator sunglasses this November, with frames made of solid 18 karat gold.
Since its introduction in 1937, originally designed for US Air Force pilots for protection from sun’s rays on high altitude flights, Aviator frames are worn by millions of men and women alike. Popularity of the trendy Aviator frame over the years has increased as a must have fashion accessory. Ray-Ban, to keep the line modern and updated has presented it in various variations of materials and colors over the years.
Accompanying the 18 karat solid gold frame is high quality polarized G-15 crystal lenses. Only 1,200 of this special limited edition aviator sunglasses will be made, available in November with a price tag of approximately $3,800 (€2,800.)
