The Real Bitches Of New York Fashion Week

They are not your average pooches. They command and demand respect, good life and all the spoils of a luxury life. Their masters (maybe they are the masters) attends to every whim and fancy with a bevy of staff. They have their own beauticians, dietitians and physicians. They are the real bitches of New York Fashion Week. They are the best of the breeds that walk the walk during the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Manhattan’s Piers 92 and 94 this week.

Contrary to what Lady Gaga says these pooches are not born this way. Their long strait hairs need flat ironing and hair spray to look that way. If one strand of hair is out of place, they’ll not get that sought-after Best in Show title. It is definitely not a bone they are after. Apparently at this year’s Westminster Show there are 192 breeds competing for the crown, that’s a lot of competition for small pooches. Thanks to pooch fascinated writers at Vogue, we can have a look at few backstage images of these fancy poodles.

Three furry friends on the top image are Elvis, Pink and Luna. Enjoying a quite time with curlers on after the show.

This is Madonna, a Lhasa Apso getting her hair sprayed and flat ironed.

G-Man, the little Yorkshire Terrier has joined the Brondes brigade this week in New York. It’s not just his high-contrast highlights that attracts attention, its perfect topknot is also a talking point. This is proof that teasing and hairspray can go a long way if done properly.
