We all know about the fashion and seasonal change-inspired afternoon tea served at luxury hotels the world over. How about some nature-inspired afternoon delights that are not related to changing seasons? Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand is now offering afternoon tea inspired by the scenery of Koh Samui. Everything about the Koh Samui Afternoon Tea revolves around tropical island’s famous coconuts.
Well, the coconuts are everywhere, and the resort’s pastry chef and his team noticed that too – the result is creating both savory and sweet menu items with lots of coconuts in them. There is one interesting eye-catching item – coconut ice cream draped in crispy rice and it is served on ice in a hand-crafted coconut shell. Other delicious sweets include a pandan mascarpone éclair, lime macaroon and chocolate éclair, traditional scone and mango scone.
A Thai favorite named, Larb Gai Tod is the main item on the savory menu – it’s a grilled minced chicken strips with fresh Thai herbs, chili and cracked rice. Other delights include freshly-made gourmet sandwiches, warm scones, exquisite pastries, smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and fresh rice paper roll with prawn.
The Koh Samui Afternoon Tea is presented on hand-crafted driftwood decorated with porcelain mushrooms. If you are a fan of afternoon tea with champagne, this little treat will set you back THB 2,700 (about $63) and without THB 1,250 (about $29). Served daily from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at KOH Thai Kitchen & Bar with stunning ocean views. For reservations contact their concierge.
