Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50

Bang & Olufsen made a loud(speaker) announcement about its latest offering to the aural Gods – the BeoLab 50! The Danish high-tech audio experts have revealed a brand new loudspeaker, BeoLab 50 which has raised the bar of fusing superior sound with an elegant design yet again. The speakers aren’t the only thing that is raising the roof, the speakers cost a sky rocketing price $40,000 per pair.

What makes these floor speakers worth more than a car you wonder? The BeoLab 50 speakers feature the brand’s signature Active Room Compensation technology, which uses an external microphone to scan and measure the acoustic surroundings to deliver optimum sound. The luxurious speakers also come with Acoustic Lens technology – when turned on, a disk shaped lens rises from the top of the speaker and allows the listener to choose from two different sound dispersion settings. The wide or narrow sound dispersion, based on which it either fills up the room with music or directs it to the listener for a personalized acoustic sweet spot.

The BeoLab might be minimal in aesthetic but packs a power punch of sound with a total of 2100 watts delivered through seven drivers –  three 10-inch woofers, three 4-inch midrange drivers and a single 0.74-inch tweeter, all connected to seven 300-watt amplifiers. The entire speaker has been outfitted and modeled in a way that it is ready to go boom with a single power cable. So apart from being the highest sound technology with the sleekest design, it also scores high on functionality and practicality that a modern day buyer seeks.

Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50

Bang & Olufsen’s speakers have always had a rich, warm look about them. The BeoLab 50 continues that legacy with its tall, slim and low-footprint body featuring the brand’s iconic style of aluminum wrapped ever so gently on the curves around an array of oak wood lamellas. The silhouette of the speakers is slender, raised by rounded floating lines and visible edges that visually lift the speaker off the floor and adding to its minimal airy design. BeoLab 50 has lived up to its predecessor with its modern design evolution without compromising on the high-quality sound. Bang & Olufsen have once again captured what dreams would sound like.
