Target marketing is not limited to Google, automakers do that too. To celebrate the “Year of the Horse,” a special edition Rolls-Royce Ghost, targeting Chinese customers was recently announced by the British car maker. The car named, the Majestic Horse Collection will feature classical interpretation of the horse in traditional Chinese art.
The dashboard of the car display a horse in exquisitely hand-crafted marquetry, while horses are embroidered to the cushions and headrest. The exterior of the car gets a hand-applied horse motif on the twin coach lines. According to Chinese beliefs, an “element” is celebrated along with an animal. Next year for the first time in over 50 years, the element “wood” and the horse are celebrated in the same year. So the Rolls-Royce “wood” interiors is a perfect match for the occasion.
Rolls-Royce made no mention of technical specifications, it is assumed special edition Ghost majestic Horse features the same 6,592 cc, V12 engine with 563 hp and 575 lbs-ft of torque that propel the Ghost from 0 to 60 in 4.92 seconds, and also give it a top speed of 155mph. In time for Chinese Holidays, deliveries will begin in the second quarter of 2014.
