All good things must come to an end, even for the completely in-house developed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG range. Introduced not so long in 2009, Mercedes has decided to end the production of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG gull-winged supercar altogether. The last run of the line named – 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition, will be limited to 350 units worldwide for all SLS AMG models.
Final edition’s paintwork will include the familiar red and black finish. Though a lot of details of the car not released with the press announcement, automaker noted some components like hood and front splitter are made of carbon fiber. A redesigned front bumper and new brakes are also on the card.
Mechanical package expected to be the same as 2013 edition. Means, it will feature a 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine that produces a peak power of 591 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 198 mph.
The car will debut at Los Angeles Motor Show next week, at which time we can expect more details on the make-up of the car and pricing.
