All good things must come to an end, even for the completely in-house developed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG range. Introduced not so long in 2009, Mercedes has decided to end the production of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG gull-winged supercar altogether. Last run of the line named – 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition, will be limited to 350 units worldwide for all SLS AMG models.
Final edition’s paintwork will include the familiar red and black finish. Though lot of details of the car not released with the press announcement, automaker noted some components like hood and front splitter are made of carbon fiber. A redesigned front bumper, and new brakes are also on the card.
Mechanical package expected to be the same as 2013 edition. Means, it will feature a 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine that produces a peak power of 591 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 198 mph.
Car will debut at Los Angeles Motor Show next week, at which time we can expect more details on the make-up of the car and pricing.
