BMW introduced its Concept M4 Coupe at Pebble Beach last weekend. The successor to M3 (M3 will stay a sedan and M4 a coupe.) In every sense sleek M4 is the embodiment of agility, dynamism and superior performance. M4 is equipped with large air inlets in the front, a swift design language in the side and a sporty, low rear give clear visual indication of the car’s tremendous dynamic potential. Other notable features include lightweight CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) made front splitter, roof and rear diffuser.
The classic “BMW face” has given modern interpretation and distinctive identity with twin round headlamps featuring LED technology. You’d recognize it as a M4 from your first glance. Side view of the M4 continue the same dynamic impression from the front end. BMW Concept M4 Coupe is characterized by a streamlined, flat silhouette and an athletic body design. Its sporty design is further enhanced by the elegant finesse of the flowing roofline.
Because of the use of CFRP on the roof line weight is greatly reduced, thus giving the M4 a sportier driving experience. Using new material like CFRP and better design BMW is able to combine form and functionality that suits BMW M.
Now to the curious M4 paint naming job. In the world of BMW marketing department, “Aurum Dust” is the new “Gold Dust”. Or it’s the name they decided to give the paint job. This wonderful machine including the paint job is expected to come with a price tag north of $55,000.
Another thing, Autoblog notes it received info from a reliable source that debut of production version of M4 will debut at Detroit Auto Show in January and not at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.
