Harley-Davidson is catering to young urban riders with the release of two totally new Dark Custom entry level motorcycles. Part of all new platform in 13 years, the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Street 500 motorcycles are equipped with liquid-cooled V-Twin Revolution X powertrains.

Bikes are designed with global and urban riders in mind. Built to navigate stop-start traffic, agility and immediate throttle to escape city congestion when necessary. The engine is designed specifically for urban riding, so regardless of temperature outside, liquid-cooled engine will maintain its peak performance. Bike also allows room for customization with its minimalist design. A narrow and lean chassis protect the engine, while super-low seat height, new suspension, premium brakes and broad handlebar sweep provides easy steering when taking hard turns and quick moves. Assisting in quick moves is its 6-speed transmission.

As the name suggests everything on this bike is dark or black. Blacked out are the engine and covers, pullback handlebars, fork gaiters and lowers. This is the first all-black Harley-Davidson bike since the Café Racer in the 70’s. Other notable features include steel and tank fenders, LED taillights and mini bullet turn signals.

Mark-Hans Richer, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Harley-Davidson said “These new bikes are leaner, yet still have a mean streak – they’re the real deal, made of real steel.” For the US, Canada and Mexico markets bikes will be built at Kansas City plant, while the plant in India will build bikes for the rest of the world. With the very affordable price range of $6,700 to $7,500, Harley-Davidson making its intentions clear to attract younger and ambitious riders. New bikes will be available in dealerships starting 2014.
