The Italian scooter Vespa had its start almost 70 years ago in 1946, soon after the end of World War II. There isn’t a place in the world today without a Vespa – be it in any large metropolis like Rome in its home country or in a village in India. Even Audrey Hepburn rode one in the movie Roman Holiday. The iconic Vespa known for its versatility and style around the world now has a partner from the high-end fashion world. Fellow Italian brand Emporio Armani has teamed up with Vespa to design a special edition named “Vespa 946” to pay tribute to the year it was first made.
There is lot of Emporio Armani integrated into the design. Company’s eagle logo can be seen under the seat on the side as well as above the headlight. The words “Emporio Armani” appear on the side. Metal parts of the scooter made using galvanic treatments boasts a satin finish that in turn creates an opaque effect with the finishing touches of the body. In addition to brown-leather seat and finishes, the Vespa 946 also come with a line of matching luxury accessories from Emporio Armani.
Technical specifications include a 125 cc 4 stroke engine with high grades for fuel efficiency and emission control, an ABS braking and ASR traction control system. It also comes equipped with full LED projectors and indicator lights and a full LCD instrument panel. The large 12 inch wheels assures comfort and safety on the road, especially while city riding.
The special edition Emporio Armani Vespa 946 will be limited to the European market as the maker Piaggio Group makes no mention of availability outside of Europe on Vespa website. There is no word on pricing either.
