Ermenegildo Zegna’s main shtick is men’s fashion. The Italian brand has been making everything from suits to shirts to shoes from some of the finest fabrics and materials the fashion world has ever seen. After over a 100 years concentrating just on fashion and clothing, they are now following in the footsteps of other luxury labels in diversifying with unrelated products to attract young customers. The Zegna Toyz Collection, curated by company’s creative director, Alessandro Sartori is a fun product line that consists of among other things tic-tac-toe, checkers, and domino sets; iPhone covers and watch cases. There is even a high-end shoe horn.
The audio gear, games, and other accessories are all collaborations between Zegna and other luxury brands. The main attraction of the collection is a trio of hi-fi audio products – a pair of headphones, speaker, and a turntable – designed in collaboration with NYC-based Master & Dynamics.
There is one constant that connects the entire Zegna Toyz Collection – label’s proprietary Pelle Tessuta material. All the items in the line come wrapped in thin strips of this soft, lightweight and wicker-like Nappa leather. In the same way, they add luxury to shoes and bags, Pelle Tessuta has increased the looks and value of the new collection in leaps and bounds.
Pricing starts at $176 with the shoe horn and goes all the way up to $2,705 for the turntable and the speaker. The Zegna Toyz Collection, unveiled during the 56th edition of Salone del Mobile goes on sale on October 30 at select Zegna stores and on their website – just in time for holiday season.
