Will this bite you in the ass? We don’t know yet, someone has to test sit it. As quirky as it look, its creator Design Toscano swear by its comfortable nature. Made from fiberglass-reinforced resin and hand-painted one piece at a time, the “Giant Red King Crab” Sculptural Chair measures 44″W x 29″D x 28″H and weighs a hefty 117 lbs. This Crab Sculptural Chair join the exclusive club that include similarly unconventional seating in shapes of skulls and hippos.
There is lot of attention to detail paid in creating the King Crab, it features pinchers, claws and eight wide-set leg. Unless you don’t mind being seen as an eccentric and wouldn’t mind this in your living room, perfect place for this is a garden, pool area, restaurant or even a hotel. This could definitely add a bit of whimsical oomph for public places. The chair originally priced for $749 is currently selling for $599.
The place I can think of “Giant Red King Crab” Sculptural Chair blend perfectly right out of the box is Ministry of Crab, the gastronomic hotspot owned by international cricketers Mahela Jayewardene and Kumar Sangakkara in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
