Making expensive versions of everyday items is an age old tradition at Hermès. To keep the tradition going, Henri d’Origny, the artistic director of Hermès has designed a line of really expensive skateboards and longboards. As described by the luxury label, extreme fanciness comes from the “light beech wood with a noble maple veneer” used in making the skateboards.
Pricing starts at $2,900 and available in two sizes and three designs. The “Bouclerie Modern” “Cavalcadour” and “Sangles en zigzag” are among the 180-year-old brand’s iconic designs. Without a doubt, for skateboarders, these boards are a perfect match for their $425 Nordstrom “Distressed Jeans Covered In Fake Mud.” And luxury conscious boarders can add a bit more fashion to park jaunts by accessorizing with Barneys New York’s $600 “Distressed Superstar Sneakers.” Mix and match opportunities are endless.
No need to hurry, they not on sale yet. The intricately crafted Hermès skateboards and longboards will go on sale online and in boutiques in late September.
