With Robinson Cano contract business done and dusted, Jay Z has now returned to other business interests and new deals. The latest agreement announced by the House of Jay Z is a deal with Cohiba Red Dot to produce a line of luxury cigars – the Cohiba Comador.
The Cohiba Comador line from Cohiba Red Dot is the result of a two year research and development project. The US grown wrapper leaf is a Connecticut Havana, aged for four years and once rolled left for six months in a cedar-lined room. The blinder and filler tobaccos according the company are from the Caribbean and Central America.
In a statement released Jay-Z said “I worked with Cohiba because I knew they’d take my vision of a luxury cigar and bring it to life in the right way. We took our time working on this, to get the blend to exactly where I wanted it to be. Comador looks and tastes the way I think a cigar should.”
The Cigars come in three versions. A mahogany-lined, pebbled leather Comador Humidor with 14 cigars, a travel humidor with seven cigars of Toro size 6”x52. The humidor has space for 63 cigars and is priced at $999. A Comodor Travel Humidor with seven cigars in a carbon black and gold case lined with “fragrant Spanish cedar to protect the flavor,” for $350. And the third, a Comodor Toro Box also with seven cigars in a matt box for $210.
