If you love your bling and tennis, this Swarovski crystal-studded racquet is made just for you. Designed and created by Bijou, a new luxury tennis racquet maker in NYC, they are looking to attract a customer base that gives importance to fashion in the same way they prioritize the sport of tennis. If you are a Francophile you should know “Bijou” stand for jewel, and this racquet collection is exactly that. The main difference is this is not just a bejeweled decorative accessory, you can take the Bijou racquet to the court and play a serious game of tennis with it.
Their Swarovski-studded range named, the Goddess Collection consists of three versions – rose gold, gold, and silver. The graphite frames are hand-painted by experienced artisans and then decorated with crystals. High-end racquets are strung with best available natural gut tennis strings and have a 16 x 20 string pattern. The 9.9oz racquet measures 27” in length with a 100 square-inch head size. Each Bijou comes in a protective Ultrasuede dust bag and its authenticity is protected by Bubble Tag technology.
The company was founded last year by former top-ranked college tennis player Agnese Rozite. She is also a trained designer, so it is no surprise, Rozite wanted to create something that relates to both her passions. Bijou’s mission is to celebrate women and empower every woman to “shine on the court” – with this racquet that seems a pretty easy goal to achieve. Originally from Europe, Rozite is now based in New York.
As is, each Swarovski-studded racquet in the Goddess Collection costs $1,250. If your preference is for something fancier – think diamonds, precious stones or pure gold frame – they are ready to customize it just the way you like it in their New York workshop.
