Smeg has a collection of stylish and really cool refrigerators, like this one from a couple of years ago. Their recent collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana to create colorful small kitchen appliances made everyone talks about a previous collaboration between the two company’s – an equally colorful fridge. The Dolce&Gabbana X Smeg FAB28 is a bold vibrant special edition full of hand decorated art.
There is nothing high-tech about FAB28 fridges. They are as retro as they come and feature among others an old fashioned bulky fridge handle. Artwork from Sicilian artists showcases everything Sicilian that includes lemons, cartwheels and medieval knights. There can’t be any Sicilian art without the Trinacria symbol and it is displayed prominently along with battle scenes and floral decorations.
With a hefty price tag of $42,000, the two companies did the right thing by limiting the collection to 100 pieces. We don’t have a sales number update for Dolce&Gabbana X Smeg FAB28, but pretty sure they are sold out by now.
