Yo Mama at Real Estalker reported couple of days ago Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are the newest owners of the 3,650 sq ft. Garwood Residence in Point Dume, Malibu. For the ownership privilege of the mansion with heated floors, formerly London-based couple has forked out $14 million.
Designed by architect John Lautner, four bedroom, three bathroom mansion is perched in an acre of land. Interiors feature a gym and a yoga studio. On the outside it has a pebble stone pool, a tennis court and an outdoor kitchen/dining area.
If Gwyneth decide to take a walk to the beach she can do that in private, property come with private access to Little Dume Beach. They also get private access to “protected backyard anchorage” for their yacht – nice little perk to have even if they don’t own one yet. It also boasts stunning views of the ocean and landscaped garden fit for entertaining.
Developer Donald Sher owned the place since 1996 which he bought for around $1.4 million. He put the place up for sale in 2012 with a price tag of $15 million and recently reduced it asking $14.9995 million.
Most consider Garwood Residence design is not up to the high standards of Lautner’s other work like the Sheats Goldstein residence in the Beverly Crest area of Beverly Hills or the Segal house in Malibu. But, that didn’t discourage Gwyneth from buying it. Rumor has it Gwyneth will get the place re-decorated by Windsor Smith.
