The new Star Wars movie, the Last Jedi won’t be in theaters until December of this year. That doesn’t mean fans have to stop looking for Star Wars-themed entertainment until the end of this year. Star Wars fans who like to travel on colorful planes now have the opportunity to do so. Last week Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) unveiled a Boeing 777-200ER – Star Wars C3PO ANA Jet – painted in bright yellow on the outside and interiors with C3PO-themed decorations. This is the fourth aircraft of the Star Wars by ANA collaboration.
To add star power to the inaugural flight, ANA invited British actor and mime artist Anthony Daniels, who gives life to golden droid C3PO in Star Wars movie series. And Daniels was more than happy to put his signature on the plane with a Sharpie as well.
The yellow C3PO plane is only for domestic flights. To add more droid glamor to flights, the cabin crew are wearing special C3PO themed aprons. Other onboard C3PO-themed specials include headrests, paper cups, postcards, and boarding passes.
Being the good sport he is, Daniels was seen messing with not just C3PO, but also with another famous Star Wars character – R2-D2.
