First class travel is so last century. Etihad Airways has created a new travel class with their all new ultra-luxury multi-room suite “The Residence”. A first for commercial passenger aircraft, the suite feature a living room, double bedroom, a private bathroom with a shower and a dedicated butler on call. New services are part of airline’s new A380 aircrafts that will take to skies beginning in 2015.
The Residence comes with a total of 125 square feet and located on the front of the upper deck. You can share the suite with a companion or fly solo. The living room has a two-seat reclining sofa in Poltrona Frau leather, a chilled mini-bar and dual marquetry dining tables. It also has an ottoman, mood lighting, window shading and seats with in-seat massage function.
Amenities offered in the bedroom include a Poltrona Frau upholstered 82 inch long double bed with custom-made mattress, bedside unit, wardrobe, under-bed storage for hand luggage and a 27 inch LCD TV. Living room comes equipped with a large 32 inch LCD TV. The Residence is fully connected to the world 32,000 feet below with its state-of-the-art communication systems of broadband mobile and data, Wi-Fi and Live TV. Other technology provided include HDMI, AC outlet and USB ports. Suite also features a touch screen controlled Panasonic eX3 entertainment system.
The interiors are tastefully decorated with modern styles with a hint of Arabian design. Highlights include custom carpets, marquetry and soft furnishings. Even the super-rich will have to spend a fortune for this ride, Etihad has not commented on pricing yet. The Residence will be initially introduced to destinations between Abu Dhabi and London, New York and Sydney.
