The 39 mm RL67 Safari Chronometer Ralph Lauren introduced last year is getting two more variations this year. Unveiled at the 2015 SIHH in Geneva, latest avatars of the Safari Chronometer come with a 44.5 mm case and two slightly different dials. One sports a khaki-dial and the other a camouflage dial, both are fitted with a Louisiana alligator strap with color choices in brown or green.
The Safari Chronometer with the khaki-dial in steel case has a gun-metal finish and a crown made from “aged” stainless steel. Its hour and minute hands are luminescent and sword-shaped, while the seconds hand is a long stemmed orange baton. Almost everything pretty much similar to the RL76 Safari Chronometer from last year.
The camouflaged dial is the deal breaker for those looking for a unique watch, not many luxury watchmakers go for a design like this. However this is a perfect addition to Ralph Lauren’s Safari collection. This too feature sword-shaped hour and minute hands and a long stemmed orange baton for seconds hand.
Both watches are powered by Ralph Lauren’s COSC-certified RL300-1 movement with a 42 hours of power reserve.
