Ulysse Nardin, the Swiss watchmaker of the extraordinary Freak collection, has a new addition. A limited edition 99 piece, The Freak Phantom. Ulysse Nardin introduced the Freak collection back in 2001 with many a firsts to its credit including cutting-edge silicium material and technology. They successfully constructed the escapement wheels from silicium. They are also the first to feature a tourbillon carrousel without the traditional dial, crown or hands. Continuing the Freak tradition of using silicium, Freak Phantom uses its patented hairspring (Si.1.1.1) and throughout the majority of its escapement.

With a movement that was produced entirely in-house, the Freak Phantom offers a lengthy power reserve of over eight days. Movement mechanism include two-ball bearing systems; the balance-wheel concept and design; and the “flying” tourbillon that indicates the minute with a tourbillon carousal that does one complete rotation around the center in 60 minutes. User friendly, the Freak Phantom can be wound by turning the lower bezel, and time adjusted by turning the upper bezel; while the direct gear link crafted between the three “hands” averts the throwing of hours, minutes and seconds when readjusting.

The Freak Phantom cage is equipped with an arrow indicating the seconds on a transparent half-circle. The iconic Phantom is housed in an elegant 18 karat pink gold 45mm case. Black leather strap completes the boldly masculine, yet beautiful character of the Freak Phantom.
