I don’t know if LVMH even knows how many brands they own, don’t worry they know. Two of their famous brands have collaborated to create the limited-edition Berluti pour Krug bag collection to carry stuff around – like Champagnes and shoes. Berluti was founded in 1895 make some of the best leather shoes in the world. Meanwhile, Krug, founded way back in 1843 is one of the marquee Champagne producers in the world. The result of their collaboration is a couple of multi-purpose bespoke bags named Short Journey and Long Journey.
Design for both bags are based on Berluti’s Un Jour briefcase and feature an original Berluti patina finish in Krug’s rich cherry tone. The famous Krug cherry color comes from the dark cherry-colored notebook Joseph Krug carried around to make notes about his vision for Champagnes. For that die-hard Champagne fan out there, the bags also come with a bag charm in the shape of a Krug Champagne bottle.
Smaller of the two bags, Short Journey, features with three removable compartments. It comes with a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée and two Joseph glasses. When not carrying bottles and glasses it has room for a pair of Berluti shoes (or any pair of shoes) and a shoe care kit. The large version, Long Journey is really large. It has six removable compartments and comes with a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée and one of Krug Rosé, accompanied by four Joseph glasses. When not carrying bubbly, it can hold up to three pairs of shoes.
On the outside both bags sports an outer zip pocket with a patinated Venezia leather zip-pull and an interior lined with grigio topo microfiber. Remove the compartments and you can just use the bag as a briefcase or travel bag and forget about Champagnes.
The Short Journey has a £3,100 ($3,900) price tag, while the Long Journey is priced at £3,800 ($4,800). Made to order Berluti pour Krug collection is limited to just 100 examples per each model. To place orders or for more information visit Berluti online store.
