Craving for few juicy burgers? If you are in Singapore pay a visit to Axis Bar and Lounge at Mandarin Oriental, they have a special promotion going on at the moment that run from June to 31 July. The Burgers and Burgundy is a special offering of trio of delicious miniature homemade burgers along with a glass of full-bodied Burgundy-style pinot noir accompanied by a serving of French fries.
The scrumptious Burgers and Burgundy starts with the Minced Lamb Burger filled with aromatic Indian spices, crisp red onion and mint yoghurt dip. Next up is the Wagyu Mini Slider, topped with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and truffle aioli. Up last is a Teriyaki Chicken Burger with crunchy romaine leaves and pickled vegetables.
There are four Burgundy-style pinot noirs to compliment burgers. The Newcomer from New Zealand is aromatic and complex with notes fresh red cherries, baking spices and fine oak. From Argentina comes the Rebel Bodegas Chacra, a wine with smooth berry, plum, caramel and spice aromas. Third option is the Enigma Soter from Oregon, US with earthly finishes and aromas of ripe cane berries, cola, toasted nuts and minerals. Fourth and final wine arrives from Burgundy, the Traditionalist Thibault Liger Belair with a dusty finish and aromas of red berries and wet stone. Diners can select their own favorites or ask the sommelier on hand to suggest a suitable one from the four.
If your plan is to have just the trio of miniature burgers it will cost you just S$36 ($27). The wines are priced between S$25 to S$29 ($19 and $22) per glass, they are also available in a tasting flight of three glasses at S$42 ($31).
