A hamper full of mouth-watering fair come with an eye-watering price tag at £20,000 (around $31,000). This year’s premium Harrods Hamper, the Decadence, is no different to what they offered in previous years. Full of fine wines, Champagnes, best spirits, gourmet cheeses, cured meats, truffles, foie gras, cake, teas, jams, chocolates and more. Never ending list of decadent treats arrive in two beautifully crafted Harrods leather trunks.
The Decadence was made available in September for pre-order. All items are carefully selected by in-house experts from Harrods Food and Wine departments. There are 25 wines, Champagnes and spirits, including Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2007 Pessac-Léognan, Vega-Sicilia “Unico” Gran Reserva 1998 Colgin Cellars, IX Estate 2009 Napa Valley, Perrier-Jouët; Belle époque Blanc de Blancs Brut Millesime 2002 Champagne and Courvoisier Initiale Extra Cognac France.
Two variations of tea are in the hamper- Ambootia Happy Valley Loose Leaf Black and Doomur Dullong Loose Leaf. Also included is Sijahtra Luwak Coffee, one of the rarest and most in-demand organic coffees in the world. There are 10 pantry items in total and include a 5.9 kg decorative Christmas cake, savory crackers, Christmas pudding, variety of jams and biscuits. Hamper also consists of delightful confectioneries such as Petit Fours Assortments, Bonieri Chocolate and Kahve Dünyasi Milk Chocolate Coated Pistachio Turkish Delight. 17 fresh food items are part of the hamper and contains fresh seasonal fruits, cheeses, Mortadella with Black Truffle, Smoked Duck Breast, caviar (Beluga and Oscietra) and 8 kg’s of Ibérico Ham Maestro Cortador.
As was the case in previous years, the Decadence this year come with gifts and accessories. To name a few a cheese knife set, Christmas crackers, cheese dishes and table decorations. In all there are 67 different items in the luxury hamper.
