The limited edition John Walker & Sons King George V is crafted exclusively using whiskies from distilleries present at the time of King George V, including in precious casks of Port Ellen Single Malt from the Isle of Islay. And Diageo GTME is delighted to offer it to discerning whisky connoisseurs of the world in time for Chinese New Year. For John Walker & Sons this is an important year, 80 years ago they were granted with the Royal Warrant as supplier to the Royal Household, which through merit they still hold today. The limited edition is part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Warrant.
Packaging on the limited edition celebrates the 1930s, especially the arts and crafts movement that thrived during the swinging thirties. It features an elegant gold chandelier print as well as an intricate motif, both in art deco style of the period. Finished in a luxurious burgundy, the John Walker & Sons King George V also used other warm colors to highlight the regal nature of the super-premium whisky.
Gillian Naylor, Head of Johnnie Walker Marketing for Diageo GTME, said: “To mark the 80th anniversary, we are proud to present a special limited edition design of this exquisite, hand-crafted blend exclusively for luxury travelers. The limited edition pack expresses the unique heritage of this remarkable blend and is the perfect gift, not only for Asian travelers during Chinese New Year, but for all discerning whisky consumers.”
There is no word on price, however it will be sold exclusively in travel retail shops at airports and duty free outlets. The limited edition John Walker & Sons King George V will be made available for a period of six months.
