These éclairs look beautiful and by the looks of it they taste delicious too. We just celebrated the national donut day couple of weeks ago, now it’s everyone’s turn to celebrate the National Chocolate Éclair Day on June 22. There is no doubt these unofficial food holidays are the best thing that ever happened to food lovers. Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts announced couple of days ago that they are launching the Le Méridien Global Éclair Program, in partnership with award-winning pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini.
Chef Iuzinni has created a selection of eight unique seasonal éclair recipes for the Le Méridien hotels in addition to a locally inspired flavor and three classic flavors – coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Local flavors from around the world include the Maple Bacon Éclair and Texas Honey Pecan Éclair at Le Méridien Dallas by the Galleria and the Dulce de Leche Éclair, infused with coconut, from Le Méridien Panama. In Germany, Le Méridien Munich will offer a savory éclair with goat cheese, cranberry and pumpernickel crumbs, while Le Méridien Bangkok will feature a citrus-inspired treat with mango, lime and ginger.
“Drawn from our European roots, Le Méridien Éclair will allow guests and locals yet another way to unlock their destination,” said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader, Le Méridien & Westin. “Through local recipes and a modern perspective on this quintessentially French pastry, Le Méridien éclairs enable us to offer unique, memorable guest experiences in our signature Le Méridien Hubs and restaurants around the world.”
Starting June 22, the National Chocolate Éclair Day will continue throughout July. The Le Méridien hotels will also host special events, DIY tutorials and regular éclair hours for guests to sample seasonal creations. Guests are also encouraged to share their experiences on social media using has hashtag #LMeclairs.
