Chandon has a long history of joining forces with designers – both fashion and artists, for special edition bottles during holidays and other special occasions. Latest such venture launched last month during the NY Fashion Week is a collaboration with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff. Getting a plain old sparkling wine bottle for the holidays is not enough, they have to come decked in shiny stuff. That’s why Minkoff used her signature stud pattern in gold to decorate the Rebecca Minkoff Merry Whatever Chandon. The bottle is available in two color options – black and white.
Minkoff took time to explain her latest creation, “Studs are a signature of ours and seen on a lot of our ready-to-wear and accessories. Because they are so fashionable and on-trend, I knew they had to be the key design element, and I wanted to add studs to the bottles in a clever way.”
Images are acting a bit naughty here by suggesting they fit perfectly in a posh girl’s handbag, truth is they do. By the second week of December, most of your co-workers will have traveled home for the holidays, when that happens feel free to take your Brut from the handbag and have a couple Chandon swigs. Moët & Chandon website describe the bottles as “casually chic white and fashionably bold black”, During holidays if you drink from cleverly designed fancy bottles at work you can get away with it – I think.
Jokes aside, the Rebecca Minkoff Merry Whatever Chandon will set you back $24 per bottle. Sensibly, the company decided to offer it from October, until January 2017. NFL post-season and Super Bowl final in the first week of February will help sell these in healthy numbers during January.
