Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Japan

To celebrate their 30 years in the Land of the Rising Sun, US ice cream maker Häagen-Dazs has introduced two new limited edition flavors exclusive to Japanese market. The company was able to maintain a stellar reputation and a following in Japan for three decades in itself is a testament to great tasting ice creams it churns out every day. Two flowery flavors – “rose” and “sakura cherry blossom” were introduced to the market on February 3.

As one would expect with most new things, not everyone is happy with the celebratory flowery flavored ice cream. Some took to twitter to critique new flavors. Most of them complained rose flavored ice cream smells and taste like shampoo or bathroom air freshener. Sakura flavor did better than rose on twitter. Flavors are added by way of a jelly sauce layer to the top of the ice cream. Not even a company like Häagen-Dazs with a great product can win all the time.

Price of a 100 ml tub is set at 284 yen, which is around $3.
