The Science afternoon tea boasts of a galactical menu where guests can explore an expansive spread of themed delicacies including a mint-chocolate planet mousse with a spaceman, of course, for accuracy purposes. The vintage style tiered cake-stands are brought ceremoniously to the table that has delicate pastries, moist cakes and warm, freshly baked scones laid out better than any constellations you have seen.

Every dish on the carefully designed courses is made in-house by the gifted pastry chef Marie Bolland. The menu lives up to the theme and how! It includes a cream Cheese Planet Mousse, Chocolate spacemen, and mini dinosaur biscuits. The Planet Mousse is brought to life when served with a dry ice volcano. The scones are filled with the chef’s special strawberry jam and Devonshire clotted cream – the perfect companion for a hot cup of tea!

Just like the elements on the periodic table, the number of treats also seemed endless! Going on with the menu, guests were also served Gloucester old spot ham with sauce gribiche; cheese with fruit chutney; smoked salmon, dill and cream cheese and coronation chicken. These were made with hazelnut, walnut and chocolate cake with mango mousse volcano, a pistachio macaroon with cherry sauce pipette, a raspberry cake planet, a sugary sweet citrus cocktail and some white and dark chocolate dinosaurs.

There is an array of brew-nique teas like the Jade Sword that is grown in misty mountains or the classic full-bodied Assam breakfast tea. If those aren’t your cup of teas, not to fret, you will also be served a glass of Charles Heidsieck Champagne.
