Having a Christmas Menu is a new tradition at TGI Fridays, which they only started last year. Being the new kid on the block means nothing for this food chain when it’s time to challenge the old kids on the block. Company’s head chef Terry McDowell decided to stir the pot and make things interesting by making the traditional Christmas dinner – a sundae, without the gooey ice cream. The newly minted TGI Christmas Dinner Sundae features chicken, mashed potato, cranberry sauce, and sage and onion stuffing – all stuffed in a classic ice cream sundae glass.
If you want to stay away from the savory sundae, there is another interesting item on the Christmas dinner menu The Stuck in the Chimney Stack Burger – which is a grand combination of chicken, stuffing, and gravy, with Jack Daniel’s glaze, a 7oz burger, Swiss cheese and caramelized onions.
Other Christmas themed items include Winter Bruschetta, Mozzarella Parcels, and the Jack’s Christmas Dinner (below). TGI did not spare the poor old mince pie, they changed that into – the Jack Daniel’s Mince Pie Sundae.
Terry McDowell, head chef had this to say: “Last year we launched Fridays’ first ever Christmas menu, and it was a roaring festive success. This year, we’ve decided to make it even bigger and better by introducing new, stand-out dishes like the Christmas Dinner Sundae – a nod to one of our most popular dishes of 2016, the legendary Pulled Pork Sundae.
“We want to make sure everyone leaves Fridays feeling like they have enjoyed a real Christmas experience after enjoying our new seasonal food and drink – and we think this menu will do that by the bucket load. Merry Christmas from Fridays!”
