The Whyte & Mackay owned distillery, Dalmore is adding a new expression to its range tomorrow. The new 25-year old expression will be introduced at TFWA travel retail conference in Cannes, France. Though adding a 25-year old expression for the first time to its range, release will be limited to 3,000 bottles per year.
The Dalmore 25 expression is the result of an intricate combination of American white oak casks, Palomino Fino Sherry casks, first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, and Tawny Port pipes from Portugal, master blender Richard Paterson used. He explained the combination in a news release “The Dalmore 25 is matured in casks that have previously housed a very special grape which creates a sweeter style of sherry. As a result, the cask has gifted a wonderful palate of orange peel, chocolate truffles and spiced gingerbread.”
No announcement made of availability date, but expected to start with travel retail. Recommended retail price is $970 (£600.)
