Vivienne Westwood Café Hong Kong

Vivienne Westwood, British designer of all things quirky high fashion opened her first Vivienne Westwood Café in April in Shanghai. Just in time for the holidays, the brand has opened a second café in Hong Kong on October 1st. Located at the famous Harbour City Mall, it sits right next to their boutique. Interiors are designed just the way Westwood like it and takes after Shanghai café. Divided into two areas, one resembles an 18th century French tearoom and the other is designed to look like a backstage of a Westwood fashion show complete with a photo shooting panel.

During the shows Westwood use the panel to keep track of styles and final looks before models strut down the runway, in the café suspended white Corian-made panels are installed along the wall. Dimmed interior lights and the gold logo gives this area a more modern look.

The 18th century French tearoom area feature walls covered in beautiful wallpapers. Prints on the wallpaper are inspired by interiors of Westwood’s favorite London museum, The Wallace Collection. Trompe l’oeil painting technique, another one of Vivienne’s favorites used regularly for her fashion shows makes an appearance to highlight wallpaper. The chandelier and paintings add a touch of speakeasy-style charm to the room.
